OFSTED & SIAMS Reports

OFSTED

Our most recent Ofsted inspection took place in March 2019 and confirmed the high performance of the school. The inspection recognised that The Priory School continues to be a ‘GOOD’ school.

Pupils follow a broad and balanced curriculum, which is enhanced by well-planned spiritual, moral, social and cultural provision. Pupils benefit from many after-school activities, as well as the school's strong commitment to the performing arts and practical subjects such as design technology.

SIAMS

All Church of England dioceses use the Church of England Education Office’s framework for the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS).

We are incredibly proud that the last inspection report recognised us as OUTSTANDING.

As a school we strive to provide a solid foundation of values that enable students to progress and thrive. We believe in the Priory Way of wisdom, hope, dignity and community, and we’re thrilled to be honoured for achieving our goal.

“Students in the school have a highly developed sense of social responsibility which is evident in their work for charity, their support for other students and their view that everyone is equal in the eyes of God and should be helped. This is as a direct result of the school’s very strong Christian values which have a profound impact upon the lives of students.”
Commitment to our students' holistic wellbeing

“The provision for students’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural (SMSC) development is extraordinary. This is fostered through the curriculum, especially in RE and collective worship and outside events.”
Making a difference in our community

“Activities such as ‘OMG’ week, the school walk, the year group retreats, the dance shows, the work with a school in Uganda, help students to develop. Initiatives, such as raising money and ‘twinning with toilets’ in Africa, and older students working in Uganda to build a playground for a school, are examples of the value of ‘sacrificial love’ being worked out in action.”
Developing personal growth

“Students spoke of being on a spiritual journey at The Priory which developed as they grew older. One student said ‘I’ve grown in my faith as the chaplains opened my eyes and I am always able to talk to them’.”
